it's all about sushi

Sushi - no other kind of food got that popular within the last few years, for a good reason if you ask me. I am sushi obsessed! When my best friend and I go out for dinner you can be a hundred percent sure that we will end up in our favorite little sushi store, but that's not only us. Most of my female friends are really liking the little Japanese rolls and also my male buddies are slowly hopping onto the sushi trend train. Last July I had one of my friends teaching me how to make Sushi on my own at home and guess what? Even my boyfriend likes them! I think the reason why the rice-rolls are getting more and more famous in the world is simply the fact that there are many different kinds and you can fill them (or buy them filled) with whatever suits your taste.
There is, for example the "Nagiri". Nagiri is a bunch of rice pressed together with something on top, for example shrimps or salmon.

Another kind is called "Maki". Maki rolls are rice with different things inside, for example avocado, shrimps, salmon, cucumber, tuna or cream cheese, with seaweed around it. You can also get it a different way, which is rice on the outside (with sesame on it), seaweed in the middle and filling on the inside.

Today I was craving Sushi, so I decided to make some for me and my boyfriend and share it with you.

I used avocado, salmon and cucumber to fill my sushi rolls. Normally I also put shrimps inside, but I couldn't find any good looking at the store today. It takes some time when you do it on your own, but it is totally worth it! Sushi is pretty healthy, which is why you don't have to feel bad after eating it (thumbs up for delicious food that's good for you!).

Do you guys eat a lot of Sushi? If so what is your favorite? Send me a mail to

I hope you enjoyed this post.

MWAH!

Although I am still not done with designing this blog and there is still a lot I need to learn, I decided to write a post today anyhow.

The 80s are coming back. You can see them everywhere! Colorful leggings, crop tops, sneakers and lipsticks. Almost every female is coloring her lips these days and I love it. My lipstick collecting is getting bigger and bigger and brands like Chanel or Mac are feeding us shopaholics with more and new lipsticks all time. There are so many different kinds, matt ones, glossy ones, glamorous ones or moisturizing ones. It doesn't matter if you wear a brighter rose tone to school, a red tone for going out with your friends or a dark purple for nights at the club - you can't go wrong with a pretty lipstick!
Here are some of my favorites out of my personal collection:
1- Chanel Rouge Coco No.11 Légende 29,99€ / 41,05$
2- Chanel Rouge Coco No. 05 Madmoiselle 29,99€ / 41,05$

3- Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine No. 17 Rose in Tention 32,99€ / 45$
4 - Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick No. 102 7,14€ / 9,80$

5 - MAC Amorous 19,50€ / 26,70$
6 - MAC Rebell 19,50€ / 26,70$

M X-treme last & shine No. 43N / Dark Rosewood 545 / NYC No. 314

For those of you who are unsure about what color fits you I highly recommend to go into a cosmetic studio or -store. My lipsticks are mostly different darker red tones as I think they suit me best. The Rimmel lipstick is a very cute baby pink and my MAC lipsticks are a red/brownish tone and the Rebell one is purple. All these colors go really good with dark brown hair.
I love picking out my outfits on which lipstick I want to wear that day or night and I think it's a super nice, pretty and changeable trend. I can't wait for the summer and summer colors.

I hope you liked this post and I got you a little bit interested in the whole lipstick trend.
Let me know in the comment box which lipstick brands or colors are your favorite and which ones of mine you liked best!

My First Blog Post

Hey guys,

I can't believe I'm really starting a blog now, while everyone else has the same smart idea and the internet is full of bloggers and youtubers. But yeah, I am really doing this. To introduce myself: I am a 20 year old female student living in Germany. I am half German and half American which probably explains the name of my blog. As long as I can remember writing was a passion of mine. I loved (and still love) writing letters and essays in school and I have now decided for myself that I'd like to be a little more professional about my writing. Another passion of mine is my home country, the USA and of course, like almost every other girl I like fashion. My brain is constantly working, I think and think and over-think things and make up situation and stories in my head. So I thought "what could I write about?", "what is something that would be interesting for others" and all of a sudden I came up with the idea for my blog. Why not write about fashion, new and popular make up styles, going out routines and recipes in Germany/Europe and also things that are going on in these categories in America? This is not only going to be about me. I am going to feature my friends and take pictures of them and even have them write a little post every once in a while to keep it interesting and varied.
I hope some of you are getting a little bit excited about this blog now. If there are things and topics you are especially curious about or you have some great ideas about things I could write about, please do not hesitate to send me an email to: germerican-lj@gmx.de

PS: Please excuse the look of my blog for now. I will work on it and make it prettier:).
